PLEASE, STOP THIS MADNESS!

What is The Stereophones?

The concept behind The Stereophones is simple - we record music, then team up with talented filmmakers, artists, and other musicians to create a monthly package of artistic content based on the "song of the month." Finally, once the package is completed, we compile it for digital release to our audience - the Internet.

Starting in September 2010 and ending in June 2011, The Stereophones will release 10 tracks to form an album, titled "Trouble," and our audience will have the unique experience of listening to each song as it is recorded. Each of these 10 tracks will come packed with a music video and a piece of artwork inspired by the music. If that isn't enough, we will also be releasing at least 10 remixes of the tracks from "Trouble" to form a remix album, "behind-the-scenes" footage of the making of each package, and much more. Best of all, we are providing this music and all the goodies that come with it at no cost to our audience.

To sum it up, our audience can expect to receive

  • 10 songs
  • 10 videos
  • 10 pieces of artwork
  • 10 remixes
  • behind-the-scenes footage
  • ...and many more goodies throughout the year

We are just musicians who love music and art in all of its forms, and we have a slew of talented people who share this love with us and want to contribute to our project (of which we are immensely grateful for). Our mission statement declaration is that we hope to contribute positively to the great body of work that is "art," and we invite you to join us in completing this mission.

A brief history lesson...

Before we formed The Stereophones, we wrote and performed in a group called All Heroes. Between 2005 and 2008, we have produced two full length records (which are still available for free digital download courtesy of Copyleft Records), performed three coast tours, and have performed at many sold-out clubs to audiences across the Bay Area. After a successful plight through the local music scene, we disbanded to pursue different paths.

Disappointed in the direction the music industry has plummeted in the last decade, we wanted to find a way to continue producing music in a way where we could reach a mass network without having to feel like salesmen trying to cram a product down unsuspecting throats. We also have a vast network of talented friends in the fields of film, music, and art, and wanted to showcase all these talents.

Enter us, Kayhan Ahmadi and Kevin Ahmadi, to create a project where we could continue to write and produce music together, but in a holistic way that makes us feel better about marketing ourselves and allows us to incorporate everyone we know - The Stereophones. Monthly content at no charge - sounds pretty awesome, right?

Because we collect zero dollars on our releases and pay our contributors the same, we also have no budget for advertising, and therefore we work solely for the joy of our audience and rely heavily on word of mouth - so tell your friends about us!
